Not so much the number of licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop, but rather, the number of consecutive days I can apparently run before getting hurt. Ok, 41 is the real answer. On day 42 my knee started barking when I was rolling around on my bike. I ran (or limped) 6 miles. On day 43, I jogged a mile and a half, painfully and decided the streak was over. I did not bring running clothes to work today. I'm not running. I don't enjoy running with pain. It's not worth it.
With a 40 mile race in 2 weeks I might be freaking out, but there's not really anything I can do about it. So, I'm just resting. Hopefully the knee issue will clear up in a few days and I can get back to jogging. I might just have to revise my ambition, I don't have the patience for this stuff.
Looks like I'm hitting the weights tonight!

Injuries stink!! I'm recovering from a doozie right now as well and was thrilled to finally slowly jog three miles the other night without pain. Rest up so you can heal in time for your 40 mile race, Crazy Man. :)
Yes, injuries suck! Especially when they're chronic (or re-occuring). I mean, I can stand them when I know the acute action that resulted in an injury, but the sort where you go to bed feeling fine and then wake up and pedal a little bit and the knee hurts for a week? Come on!
